ADVENTURER
As we age, I consider it important to leave our comfort zones and push our limits. Personally, I want to create remarkable adventures and unforgettable experiences for myself. On top of that, I like to prove to myself that I can do things which, on first glance, might not seem possible.
Step in the great outdoors. Journeying to remote lands and into the wilderness offers a new appreciation and outlook on life. Although adventure travel entails a degree of challenge, risk and uncertainty, it compels confidence, growth and empowerment. Added to this is my favourite mode of transport, namely horseback.
One reason I enjoy exploring by horseback is you can reach parts of the planet not accessible by other transport. My four legged companions have taken me to places I never knew existed from vast rolling plains and secret coastlines to hidden villages and natural habitats of the world’s most cherished wildlife.
Mornings can be early and days longs, sometimes without the conveniences of the outside world like electricity and hot water. Despite this, there’s no greater feeling than huddling around a camp or lodge at the end of a day looking up at the stars in gratitude and wonderment. It reminds us that it’s not a bad thing to go off-the-beaten-track from time to time, and such experiences help us write our own narrative.
HIGH ON HORSEBACK
One thing I’ve learnt from my travels is that the beauty of the world is out there for us all to see.
For those who wish to tread their own path and roads less travelled, below is a collage of images from my favourite horse-back riding ventures.
My hope is by sharing these experiences of exploration and discovery they might inspire you to live curiously and follow your dreams.
